Experience

The Divani Meteora Hotel is part of the Divani Collection of luxury hotels in Greece and was the first to be created in 1960. Synonymous with luxury, this group has maintained their reputation since its founding. Recently fully renovated, this hotel combines the area’s natural beauty with contemporary luxury and traditional Greek hospitality. This 5-star hotel is nestled in the religious rocks of Meteora which are ideal for hiking and biking enthusiasts. I looked forward to exploring the area from this hotel.

Arriving in the afternoon, I checked in and went up to my room. I stayed in a Deluxe Room.

The Divani Meteora Hotel contains 165 guest rooms, including Superior Rooms and Junior Suites. Each offers modern amenities, contemporary décor, and stunning views of the celebrated rocks of Meteora from the balcony. The natural earth tones of the furnishings seem to almost blend into the landscape just beyond the window. The wood floors bring a warm and rustic feel to the otherwise modern room. For those who need to get some work done, there is a large working space and wired internet access for a fee. Other amenities include a mini bar, phone, and flat screen TV.

The bathroom features a soaking tub, toilet, and a sink with a large mirror.

From the hotel I set off for some sightseeing to the famous rocks Meteora. Walking into the town center, I found a place to rent a scooter which was really an ideal way to hop from viewpoint to viewpoint and eventually catch the sunset.

The next morning I went down for breakfast at the Hotel’s Main Restaurant which served a traditional breakfast with some Greek touches. The restaurant is also open for lunch and dinner, offering Greek and international dishes with the chef’s signature flare. The dining room boasts magnificent views and is flooded with natural light to enhance the enjoyment of the meal.

I explored the hotel and saw the different facilities. A Hotel Bar in the lobby offers a wide selection of drinks with a view of the hotel gardens and pool area.

For relaxation, the Spa features a large indoor pool, sauna, steam bath and Jacuzzi. There is also a fully equipped fitness center complete with an instructor if requested. The outdoor pool brings green landscape to the edge of the pool creating a serene environment. The Pool Bar provides snacks or drinks as you enjoy the scenery.

The recent addition to the hotel is the massive event room which can hold 1,000 guests. This room, the largest in the area, is suitable for almost any occasion.

After touring the impressive facilities, I continued sightseeing and visited some of the monasteries. On my return, I went for a dip in the outdoor pool and sipped on a local drink special which was the perfect way to complete the day.

I had an efficient check-out by the courteous receptionist. The service at the hotel was professional and accommodating, especially the front desk team.

The Divani Meteora Hotel brings the luxury to the striking landscape of Meteora. One can understand why the Divani Collection started their brand in this location. The breathtaking views, ideal location, and great facilities make this hotel a true oasis.

I would recommend Divani Meteora Hotel to any travelers looking for a comfortable mixture of nature and luxury for their vacation.
