Experience
For a half a century, at the edge of Lake Ohrid and surrounded by pine trees, the 5-star Inex Gorica Hotel has sat serene and welcoming to its guests. With a simple and sophisticated classical architecture and a lakeside location, I looked forward to visiting the property.
Driving down from Skopje, I found parking right in the hotel lot. Check in was very quick and we also received a room upgrade. Given a key, we went to settle in.
All rooms offer a lake or mountain views in a modern or classical décor. Each room features air-conditioning, wireless internet, mini bar and cable TV. There are also six Junior Apartments and two Presidential Apartments for those who want more spacious rooms. The Junior Apartments include a living room, work table and balcony to take in the beauty of the lake view.
Our room had a small corner balcony with a table and chairs.
That evening, we went to the lakeside beach and got a swim in just as the sun was setting. The beach was full of vacationers, mostly families and couples. The water was quite warm given the time of day and there was a dock for kids to jump off of.
Back at the hotel the Aperitif Bar which is open 24 hours a day was quite lively. The terrace was full of people socializing over cocktails under the night sky.
The next morning, we went for breakfast. The Main Restaurant and National Restaurant combine to make up one hotel restaurant with ample seating inside and outside on the terrace. Macedonian national or International cuisine is offered to for guests to choose from.
After breakfast we explored the hotel. The facilities include a sauna and massage services. In the lobby is a tour booking service for guests to visiting the number of sights in and around the city. We found the hotel to be very central for traveling around to the sights by car.
The Inex Gorica Hotel can host any event with its multiple meeting and conference rooms. The Golden Hall and VIP Room have a 70 and 90 person capacity, respectively, which can be reconfigured to fit different needs. The Diamond Hall can hold up to 400 and would be an ideal location for a large wedding party. The hotel even offers wedding planning services and consultations.
Service is friendly and efficient, especially the tour arrangement services.
Inex Gorica Hotel serves to provide a perfect getaway for guests looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. The hotel offers a great location, wonderful views and useful facilities. I would recommend staying here for a real retreat on the shore of lake Ohrid.
