  • Great service and valet parking.
  • Spa and Pool.

Background

The Langham Auckland is a large luxury hotel with 411 rooms located in downtown Auckland, near the business and tourist areas of the city. The Langham brand from London has maintained a reputation of luxury and service for the discerning traveler. As one of the top rated hotels of the city, I was looking forward to experiencing their property firsthand.

Experience

Driving into town I found the location to be easy to find. The valet parking was especially appreciated as they took the time to find the parking on property. Check-in was quick and friendly. I stayed in an Executive Club Room on a high floor. The room was decorated using a warm color palette with dark wood detailing and classic style furniture. A large king-sized bed was in the center facing a flat screen TV and desk. There is a seating area with a round table next to the large windows overlooking the city. The bathroom was decked out in marble floors, wood accents, and featured a shower bath combination.

The rooms also feature the standard amenities like an iron/ironing board, coffee and tea facilities, mini bar and phone. The blackout curtains were great to get that extra bit of sleep in the morning. Wi-Fi was fast.

Executive Club Rooms also have access to the impressive Langham Lounge Club. This lounge allows guests to enjoy hot breakfast, afternoon tea, and pre-dinner aperitif. The presentation and meal service was excellent. Additional butler services like shoeshine, packing, and garment pressing were also available. The classic furniture and antique items on display also added an air of sophistication.

The Langham offers elegant dining experiences. Eight Restaurant is the primary dining option serving a range of international cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Palm Court is a lounge bar serving breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea. A trendy centerpiece of the lobby, this is a place to see and be seen.

Within the hotel there is the signature Chuan Spa and pool area. The Chuan Spa offers treatments and massages to revitalize and rejuvenate. Unwind with a herbal salt scrub then indulge in the steam room. The Chuan Health Club Fitness Centre provides free weights and the newest exercising equipment.

The outdoor pool area features a heated saltwater pool and Jacuzzi with plenty of lounge chairs to unwind and enjoy the sun.

Of course all of the attractions of Auckland are easily within reach, many of them a brisk walk away. To access the waterfront, the hotel offers a complementary shuttle service.

Business travelers will find the event facilities very adequate with meeting rooms for private gatherings and event spaces that can accommodate up to 900 guests.

The service and professionalism at The Langham Auckland is what creates a truly remarkable experience. From the reception team to the servers at the Executive Club, everyone worked to anticipate and address our needs quickly. They were courteous and always assisted with a smile and friendly tone.

Excellent service, lavish interiors, the spa and facilities plus a well-managed Lounge Club all create a memorable experience at The Langham Auckland. Whether traveling for business or leisure, this hotel is one of the finest choices in Auckland.
