Experience
When we planned our trip to Bujumbura, we researched multiple hotels in the area. Though we weren’t planning to play golf, The Roca Golf Hotel was an inviting choice given its excellent reviews and great location.
Our experience began with an airport transfer which was arranged by Roca Golf Hotel in the hotel’s Hyundai minivan. The driver was punctual and friendly. The hotel was located only a short drive from the airport and from the center of Bujumbura.
We were then greeted by the reception who was welcoming and informative regarding the local sites to visit in Bujumbura. The hotel concierge arranged for a reliable driver with a private car to take us around the city for the day. The driver was knowledgeable, friendly, spoke great English, and provided us with an insightful tour.
We each stayed in a Comfort Room on the top floor of the hotel with a fine view overlooking the pool. They were comfortable with a king-size bed with a mosquito net, flatscreen TV, and a small private balcony. The rooms were clean, modern, and of international standard.
A well kept private bathroom was found in each room which included a sink, toilet, and shower.
The amenities included a flat screen television with satellite TV, complimentary high speed wireless internet, telephones, and air conditioning. A small fridge and mini bar were also found in each of the rooms.
The following morning we explored the hotel premises. Central to the hotel is a large outdoor swimming pool around which you can find multiple facilities including Resto Restaurant, a small shop, and the gym. Surrounding the hotel is the golf course which is ideal for golfers.
We had breakfast at the buffet in Resto Restaurant which had a great selection of local and traditional food. You could also sit outside in the garden next to the pool.
The hotel has multiple other available facilities including the Rocks Bar which has a daily happy hour and runs special events. There is also a day lounge that is available to guests.
Other available features of the hotel include a signature spa which has both a sauna and a jacuzzi. There is also a modern hotel gym which offers 24 hour access to all guests.
There is a small gift shop named Regalo within the hotel which sells souvenirs, snacks, and other small items.
In addition to the 68 Comfort Rooms, the hotel has several suite options. There are 3 available junior suites and 3 available senior suites for the discerning traveler.
The modern design and service oriented staff made our stay a very pleasant one. The comfortable and clean rooms as well as the multiple available facilities, such as the golf course, make Roca Golf Hotel a unique find in Bujumbura. It is a great pick for business travelers and tourists looking for a comfortable and safe hotel with a great location.
