The Schlössle Hotel certainly meets these standards with a 5-star rating and the medieval architecture artfully restored to bring the 14th century building into the 21st century. Elements like the central chimney, portals of cut stone and spiral staircases remain from the original medieval architecture and the original owners.
Inside the rooms and suites of the Schlössle Hotel lavish antique furnishings brings the lifestyle of the medieval merchant class to the current day guests. The spacious rooms offer views of the private courtyard which adds to the truly unique experience. The very latest technology has been integrated into the medieval and antique décor to bring modern day comforts to the elegant atmosphere created by the heavy stone walls, wooden beams and tapestries. Each room and suite features a flat screen TV, work desk, trouser press, iPad, minibar and free wireless internet. The private Sauna is in the basement of the Schlössle Hotel. Saunas are an essential part of the Estonian lifestyle and dates back to the 13th century so it’s no surprise that the medieval middle class would incorporate saunas into their buildings. For overnight guests, the morning time block in the sauna is complimentary as well as bottled water, towels, and bathrobes. The sauna can also be reserved for private groups up to 6 people.
The Schlössle Hotel offers dining options for anytime of the year. In summer the M.C Grill Terrace is ideal for summer drinks, light meals and homemade desserts surrounded by flora and live music. For something cozier for winter months the Suite Lounge has a wide range of cigars and cognacs for a relaxing afternoon reading a book or engaged in friendly conversation.
The flagship dining venue is M.C Grill designed with international and cosmopolitan clientele in mind. The log fire creates a warm atmosphere that can compete with any luxury restaurant in Europe. The menu offers contemporary cuisine with fresh seasonal ingredients like pan-fried duck and parmesan cheese bake or veal fillet with foie gras and quinoa. The meals are are some of the best I’ve had in Europe in terms of food quality, service, presentation and atmosphere. Don’t miss this restaurant!
