Experience

Athénée Palace Hilton Bucharest Hotel is a landmark in the city known as “the Paris of the East.” The hotel is celebrating its 100th birthday this year. Since opening its doors in 1914, guests at the Athénée Palace Hilton Bucharest Hotel have included kings, presidents, and celebrities. Though it hasn’t always been associated with Hilton, the Athénée Palace has always been the subject of admiration and praise from historians and novelists. With a night in Bucharest, we were excited to experience the hotel ourselves.

Coming from Serbia, we arrived late in the evening and were welcomed and quickly checked-in. We left our car key at the front desk for valet parking. Then we went up to our room.

Currently the Athénée Palace Hilton Bucharest Hotel has 272 rooms and suites since adding a wing in 1965. Guests staying in suites like the Courtyard Suite enjoy beautiful views from the balconies, Executive Lounge access, a separate working area, living room, two bathrooms and a complimentary continental breakfast. Other amenities extended to both Suites and Guest Rooms are wireless internet, premium TV and a mini bar.

A highlight of the hotel is the beautiful Le Diplomate Ballroom which is now a national heritage monument. Decorated with original murals and classic furniture, the ballroom is a favorite for high profile events in Bucharest.

The Hilton Health Club is fully equipped with cardiovascular equipment, free weights and exercise bikes there’s no need to break your regular workout schedule. The club even has trainers on staff to give expert advice and tailor fit your fitness routine. After cardio and weights, float around in the heated pool or wander to the relaxation area, Jacuzzi, or maybe the sauna or steam room. There’s also an exclusive beauty center, La Prairie Beauty Cabin featuring its own line of skincare products and fragrances.

On the first floor of the hotel, set along Bucharest’s Revolution Square sits Café Athénée which serves classic European dishes with modern flair. After the sun sets the restaurant transforms into a cosy lounge with the “Bubbles & Bites” menu full of gourmet cuisine and sparkling wine. For fine dining Roberto’s Restaurant offers guests the freshest ingredients in their signature dishes inspired by Italy with wine pairings to compliment.

The Athénée Palace Hilton Bucharest Hotel lives up to its landmark status. With magnificent ballrooms, state-of-the-art fitness facilities and gourmet cuisine guests can experience true luxury in a historic setting. I highly recommend this 5-star hotel to business and leisure travelers.
