Experience

The Westin Zagreb is a 5-star international brand situated in the heart of the capital city of Croatia. A favorite of world leaders, dignitaries, royalty and luxury travelers, expectations of the experience are high. As one of the best rated hotels in the city, with grand interiors and panoramic views I looked forward to a memorable stay.

Arriving from Zadar, it was late in the afternoon when we checked in. The front desk was very professional and handed our key after the paperwork was quickly completed.

We had two deluxe rooms featuring a Heavenly Bed® with a luxurious pillow-top mattress and pure white bedding, standard in each of the 349 rooms and suites. The color palette of the room is a soothing cream accented by the dark wood trim and furniture creating a calm professional atmosphere.

The bathroom features Westin’s Heavenly Spa and Heavenly Shower® to give a renewed energy to a daily routine. A central sink with a granite countertop is opposite the shower and toilet.

The views over the city center were great!

For comfort and convenience, guests are also provided with free wi-fi, HD LCD TV, a working desk, coffee and tea, mini bar and an in-room safe. Junior Suites and Executive Suites are also offered a tablet with the Westin Zagreb application for the duration of their stay to add another level of interaction and service to guests.

After settling in, we ventured to explore the property.

Downstairs, The Westin has recently refurbished its Wellness Center and has partnered operations with World Class Health Academy®. The 1700m² facility features state-of-the-art exercise equipment such as the Nautilus “One” machines, Finnish and Turkish saunas and a 17m pool. For those in need of de-stressing and a little pampering, there are 16 different types of massages offered as well as facial treatments, pedicures, manicures and body reshaping treatments.

The Westin offers three options for dining, each are kosher and halal certified. The Kaptol features international and traditional Croatian cuisine prepared by an award winning kitchen. The Westin also offers a wide range of SuperFoodsRx™ such as steel cut oatmeal, blueberry smoothies and cheddar omelets to promote a healthy lifestyle. The Rendez Vous Café offers lighter meals for breakfast and lunch. Partake in the daily “unwind ritual” with locals at Diana Bar and enjoy after-work drinks and tasty snacks on the Allegro Terrace.

After a brief tour of the hotel, we went out for some evening sightseeing and nightlife. The Westin is really in the perfect location for tourists and professionals alike. The Mimarra Museum, National Theater, and Opera House are adjacent to the hotel. And a short walk away is the central square, markets, boutique shopping and cultural attractions. There is also a Segway city tour starting from the The Westin.

Service at the hotel was excellent throughout the stay. The front desk is professional and helped with a touring itinerary of the city and also recommended great venues to visit for dinner and drinks. Waitstaff in the restaurant was also very classy and accommodating. We happened to be there during the World Archery Field Championships, so we ate alongside many international teams and athletes!

The Westin Zagreb met our expectations with its luxurious rooms, professional staff, excellent location and great restaurants. I would highly recommend a stay to anyone traveling to the city.
