Experience

After completing our safari in the Serengeti, we were looking for a luxury hotel to relax and plan the next leg of our trip. Nairobi, the largest city and capital of Kenya is a center of culture, business, and tourism in East Africa with plenty of visitors. After some research we found Tribe Hotel to be inviting with it’s excellent reviews, ideal location adjacent to the Village Market, and ultra modern facilities.

After a day of touring in Nairobi, we arrived to the front gate of the Tribe Hotel. The security of the hotel was thorough and respectful. The concierge was friendly and well informed about the local sites. Within the lobby there was a popular pastry shop called Suite 101 which recently opened this year.

We stayed in the Superior Room. The room was very modern with a comfortable bed with 300-thread count sheets, a large flat screen TV, and a workstation. We were greeted by a selection of high-quality chocolates from Suite 101, a bottle of wine, and a welcoming message that displayed on the television. Other amenities included a fully stocked and complementary mini fridge, high speed internet and phones.

An open contemporary bathroom is attached to the room. A sink is found opposite a modern bathtub. Behind this section of the bathroom is a glass wall within which there is a toilet and shower.

After we settled into our hotel room, we went out for the night to meet a friend at a restaurant and bar in the Village Market before calling it a night.

The following morning we had breakfast at a buffet arranged in the hotel restaurant adjacent to a large modern pool. The buffet was a good selection of both local and traditional food. We were seated outside near the pool, where we enjoyed our breakfast.

We met with Damaris from Guest Relations who gave us a tour of the hotel facilities.

The hotel is set adjacent to the Village Market which is Nairobi’s most popular and modern shopping and recreational destination. The hotel was opened in 2008 and modeled as a luxury boutique hotel which has already been recognized by multiple awards.

Tribe hotel is ideal for both business guests and tourist. There are multiple conference facilities with an impressive set up for different meetings and occasions. Interestingly, there is even a helipad located on the hotel property for guests who would rather not wait in Nairobi traffic.

There are multiple dining facilities including a recently opened restaurant named Jiko which focuses on contemporary international cuisine. There is also a rooftop bar named the Nest where guests can enjoy a shisha.

The hotel is set with a modern gym with the latest equipment and offers an onsite personal trainer. The gym operates 24 hours and even had a boxing bag within the facilities.

Kaya Spa is a popular draw for many of the hotel guests. This spa includes five treatment rooms and a hair studio.

There are 137 rooms within the hotel which range between high quality rooms and suites. There are several different level suites available for a traveler interested in all the amenities of luxury and include a junior suite, loft – business suite, ambassadorial suite, penthouse, and a presidential suite.

The modern design of the hotel and philosophy of hospitality focused on luxury provided a lasting impression to our stay. The comfortable rooms and state of the art facilities within Tribe Hotel make this property a unique find in an ideal location for business travelers and tourists looking for a luxurious stay in Nairobi.

I highly recommend the hotel to anyone traveling to Nairobi!
