Having a free weekend to travel around Europe I was excited to explore the small European country of Luxembourg. I was fortunate to have a chance to be hosted at the DoubleTree by Hilton Luxembourg located right between the international airport and the city center in a quiet suburban neighborhood.

Arriving on a flight after sundown, I took a taxi from the airport though they have a complementary shuttle that you can reserve. Plus if you rent a car they have ample parking on location.

Check in was fast, friendly, and included the hotel’s signature warm cookie. I was staying in a suite on the top floor. I noticed the welcome set up as soon as I walked into the room. The team had left some snacks, fruit, and chocolates for me. They were placed on the coffee table of the living area which included couches, a TV and desk. With the open layout of the room, I could also see the king sized bed facing another TV. The modern bathroom had both a large shower and bath.

Another door leads to the walk-in closet with a safe and ironing board. There is also a door to the private terrace.

With my room tour complete, I sunk into the soft king sized bed to enjoy my early night.

The next morning I woke to bird song and saw them greeting my balcony during their morning ritual. Stepping outside I noticed the view for the first time and admired the sea of autumn trees’ reddening leaves.

Breakfast was available in The Green Restaurant & Bar, a vibrant cafe with many healthy breakfast options. There are also some local Luxembourg dishes to try out!

The heated indoor pool is simple to access and a sauna and fitness room are also available. A hot sauna after a long day of touring is definitely appreciated!

The hotel seems to be popular with events as well. They have several conference rooms and meeting spaces to accomodate everything from private business meetings to large lavish weddings.

As I was touring Luxembourg I found the transport to the city center to be very convenient. Unfortunately it is not walking distance, but a bus is available right outside the hotel taking you to many stops throughout the city. The bus is free on Saturday and soon every day! The hotel also has a complementary shuttle to the Kirchberg Quarter.

DoubleTree by Hilton properties aim to provide a high class stay at a competitive price and their Luxembourg hotel successfully fulfills that objective. With beautiful rooms, a convenient location, friendly staff, a top facilities I look forward to staying again!
