After an intense summer in Italy, Malta, and Iceland, I had a brief week back in the US before deciding on taking a last minute journey. My friend Chris will partially joining me for the adventure.

This time I’m headed to east Africa to try to visit Djibouti, Ethiopia, Somalia, Eritrea, Sudan, and South Sudan. If everything is successful, I will have reached 142 countries by the end of this trip.

Besides the instability of the area, the visas will be an annoyance and possibly difficult to get. For Eritrea, Sudan, and South Sudan I will aim to get the visas while in Djibouti and Ethiopia.

With currently just a one-way ticket to Djibouti (which includes a nice long layover in Zurich), much of the trip will be planned as I go.
