Background
Hilton Kuwait Resort has created a full service 5-star resort for the whole family with sweeping views of the Persian Gulf. With so much to do on the property, it’s difficult to tear yourself away to see the other sites in Kuwait. Set on its own stretch of private beach just outside of the busy city center with equally beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces, the resort is the largest in Kuwait and has set the standard for safe and luxurious accommodation.
Experience
The Hilton Kuwait Resort offers a complimentary pickup service from the airport which made the short 20 minute trip a breeze. The expressway follows the coastline for a scenic drive on the way to the resort.
I checked-in to my Queen Deluxe Room which has lovely views over the pool and sea with large picture windows that can open up to let in the sea air. Watching the sunset from the room was a special treat. Across from the sofa is a spacious work with the complimentary wireless internet available throughout the resort. There is also a comfy queen sized bed where I can enjoy watching the flat screen TV with international channels.
Around the corner is the bathroom which is decked out in marble finishes and chrome fixtures. There is a walk-in shower, toilet and even a bidet.
Other rooms and suites at the resort include the Queen Deluxe Studio which gives guests a dining area to enjoy room service and a variety of Suites which includes a kitchenette for the option of a home cooked meal. The Villas give guests total privacy without sacrificing the panoramic views of the Gulf. Guests booking one of the Royal Villa even have a choice between a private beach and a private splash pool.
All rooms and suites have top of the line in-room amenities like satellite TV, a coffee maker, DVD and CD player, mini bar, independent thermostats, plush bathrobes, and in-room safe, two telephones and complimentary daily newspapers.
The flagship restaurant at the Hilton Kuwait Resort is The Teatro Restaurant on the ground floor with stunning views from the terrace. Guests can enjoy one meal or all three at the buffet which features Arabic and International specialties. The chefs put on a show at their preparation stations where they grill meat and seafood, sauté vegetables and roll sushi right in front of guests using only the freshest ingredients.
For a quieter atmosphere, Naranj Restaurant provides guests with a serene dining environment decorated in dark wood and elegant chandeliers. The tapas style cuisine is ideal for sharing with your travel buddies.
During the day, the Palm Court is a great spot for lunch. The Hilton Kuwait Resort has a private tent set up right on the beach to keep out of the sun where they serve authentic Arabic dishes and a wide range of creative mocktails. In the evenings guests can also indulge in the favorite post-meal ritual of shisha to finish off the evening.
If you prefer to stay by the pool, there are two options for a small bite while relaxing in a sun lounger. The Pool & Beach Café is family friendly with hot dogs, hamburgers and mix and match ice cream while a more relaxed choice is the Wavebreaker which serves mocktails and smoothies throughout the day as well as pizza, burgers, and sandwiches.
Besides the outdoor pools, there are five private beaches where guests can enjoy without the hassle of large crowds. I felt like I had my own private beach which is rare at a large resort. There are volleyball courts and also equipment rentals so you can explore the beautiful Arabian Gulf.
Treatments at the Spa are selected from around the world and performed by a professional team. Guests have open access to the aquamedic pool, sauna, and steam room. There is also a unique Tropical Rainforest Shower Room featuring warm showers with enchanting tropical aromas. The opposite of which is the Ice Room, a refreshing change from the desert climate.
More traditional resort facilities include flood-lit tennis courts and cardio, aquatic, and dance classes. The trainers can accommodate any fitness and skill level, including children classes. If you already have a set routine, the Health & Fitness Center is outfitted with a large aerobics studio and a great selection of free weights and cardio machines.
The Hilton Kuwait Resort’s private location near the capital city makes it ideal for business conferences and meetings. The lavish Al Dorra Ballroom can hold up to 1,500 guests and is one of the most sought after venues for weddings in Kuwait. There are also options for more intimate affairs like the Royal Marquee which holds up to 600 guests or a tailored beachfront space for almost any event.
There are also 11 meeting and seminar rooms equipped with the latest technology for presentations and conference video calls. Catering is available for day long conferences which can be arranged through the dedicated events team.
What was especially impressive was the personalized service at this large resort. Not only did I receive a warm welcome during check in, but I was also often addressed by name. The sales manager, reception, restaurant hosts, doorman, and other staff were friendly, professional, and attentive.
A 5-star hotel sitting on a large stretch of private beach with an amazing view over the Persian Gulf is hard to beat. The Hilton Kuwait Resort is an exceptional choice due to their private location, personalized service, and range of luxurious facilities. I highly recommend a stay to anyone visiting Kuwait, for either business or pleasure.
