The sleepy capital of Tajikistan has few quality hotels. Fortunately Hyatt has opened a property in the heart of the city. With a long road trip ahead, my friends and I were looking for a place to relax and unwind before the arduous journey.
This five star property is in a tranquil area of the city set between Lake Komsomol and a park. The National Museum and Dushanbe Zoo are close-by.
After a short ride from the airport, we arrived at the hotel. Check in was smooth and we were settling into our room with two twin beds.
Hazel tones and wooden details decorated the room with patterns of Tajik origin. The room was very modern, with an in-wall flat screen TV, electronic controlled lighting and most importantly fast wifi. A small work desk was in the corner next to the large ceiling to floor windows. The bathroom was very modern decked out in white and gray marble finishing. The shower and tub combination was behind a glass door and the wall facing the window was also glass. This allowed natural light to shine in all the way to the bath.
The primary dining outlet is the Focaccia Grill serving Mediterranean and international cuisine. Breakfast with the room is served here. The decor is modern and classy with parquet floors and marble accents.
At The Lounge, guests can hang out inside or out. I found it comfortable to have an afternoon coffee here after a day of sightseeing. The other meeting point is the The Bar which is perfect for a private evening drink in a sleek bar offering a wide range of drinks and cocktails. Bar style meals are also served.
The gym has all the equipment for a full workout and a cool blue lit pool is available throughout the day.
On the main floor you can also find some souvenir shops and stores.
As the Regency brand is aimed at businesses, the hotel is well equipped to handle meetings and large conferences with almost 1400 sq m of space. Weddings are a popular event to hold as in the Tajik tradition, large and lavish weddings are a must!
Even as a tourist, the Hyatt Regency Dushanbe was ideal. We headed out daily on foot as most of the sights were nearby. It’s central location plus luxurious and modern interiors made it a perfect place to destress at the end of the day. Overall this property is a gem in Dushanbe and I recommend it to anyone visiting the capital!
