Experience

Mantenga Lodge is surrounded by lush green woodland and magnificent mountain views. This owner run property has international standards, but with the personal feel of a welcoming home. With great reviews and the number 1 rated property in Ezulwini on TripAdvisor, I was excited to experience the lodge.

Mantenga Lodge offers a choice of 38 rooms which look out over the pool, gardens, or mountains at prices to accommodate a wide range of budgets. Each room has its own patio or terrace area where guests can enjoy their morning tea or coffee. The interior décor is tasteful and clean with neutral colors and wooden touches. Though the furnishings are simple the room still includes features like wi-fi, air-conditioning, satellite TV, mosquito machine and coffee and tea making facilities.

The bathroom is practical, clean, and includes a shower, sink, and toilet.

The main restaurant has a striking dining room with colorful walls featuring local crafts. There is also an outdoor deck for dining with an incredible view of the mountain and valley.

In the morning a buffet breakfast is served which is included in the room rate. The layout consists of homemade items such as bread and yogurt. Eggs can be ordered in your preferred style.

For dinner the restaurant offers a la carte dining and a fine selection of wines for pairing with your meal. Specialty cocktails from the bar are also available. Don’t miss the “Mantenga Special” with sautéed beef, mango chutney, pesto, and wine sauce to dip the local croquettes in!

Besides the great views, the hotel also has an Outdoor Pool surrounded by trees and fauna to keep the area cool in the hottest months. Lounge chairs are provided so guests can relax and enjoy the tranquil environment.

Mantenga is centrally located (right next to where the new US Embassy will be) and all the major sights are easily visited by car. Free parking is available onsite.

Service and staff are what make the lodge stand out as one of the top places to stay in the country. Besides being friendly, the team is extremely welcoming and will make an extra effort to be sure that their guests are well taken care of not just within the property, but for their entire stay in Swaziland.
