Hotel Ljubljana falls under the Premium category offered by Austria Trend Hotels, which gives a personalized hotel experience at each of its 29 hotels across Austria, Ljubljana, and Bratislava. The Ljubljana branch is built as a 5 star but marketed as a 4 star and has housed guests such as Ben Affleck, Naomi Campbell, and international football teams. With great ratings and a strong brand, I looked forward to the stay.

Coming from Zagreb, we arrived in the evening and were given a prompt check-in.

The majority of the 214 rooms in Hotel Ljubljana are Deluxe and Executive Rooms which offer free internet access, flat screen TV, mini bar, a safe and magnificent views of the mountains and the city. The Executive Rooms also enjoy a complimentary 2 hours in the sauna at the Sense Wellness Club, an extra that is also extended to guests staying in the Suites while the Presidential Suites has its own private Jacuzzi and sauna. Each room is richly decorated with plush colors and contemporary design.

For an added touch, guests can select their pillow to suite their comfort level.

The bathrooms are spacious, clad in neutral tile with a dark stone countertop and high-end fixtures. The main bathroom had a shower and tub combination with a sink and toilet. The guest bathroom near the entrance of the suite had a toilet and sink.

The next day, we went downstairs for breakfast. The complimentary breakfast buffet included freshly baked pastries, organic teas, and regional food products. Special care is taken to ensure many options are available for guests who have special dietary needs like lactose intolerant, gluten free, or vegetarian. The same type of service extends to their main restaurant Marco Polo which serves a 7-course menu featuring regional specialties and international cuisine. Vinothek is the hotel’s other restaurant which serves a la carte. The Bar is a peaceful place to converse over a drink.

The Sense Wellness Club is open daily for relaxation featuring a unique combination of massage treatments from Thailand and the Philippines. There is also a Hammam, Finish sauna, bio sauna, whirlpool and relaxation room. VIP facilities are available for couples to share an experience of one of the many oriental treatments.

Booking an Executive Room or one of the Suites comes with complimentary shuttle service to the city center and the main tourist attractions around Ljubljana. Also in the vicinity of the hotel is Old Town, the Convention Centre, the Faculty of Economics, the BTC shopping centre, the Krvavec skiing resort, several golf courses and Center Stozice which can keep a family with the most diverse of interests busy during their stay.

Taxis are readily available to take guests into the center. The helpful concierge can provide a touring itinerary as they did with us.

The hotel also focuses on business clients so there are conference and meeting rooms available.

Service throughout the hotel is top notch with very friendly and welcoming front desk staff and professional wait staff in the restaurants.

The hotel is a fantastic choice for anyone looking for a luxurious hotel with a personal touch in Ljubljana. I highly recommend the Austria Trend Hotel Ljubljana due to their great service, wonderful restaurants, and comfortable rooms.
