Background

Five Seas Hotel Cannes is a trendy 5–star boutique hotel nestled among the historical architecture of the Riviera and next to the Palais des Festivals. With 45 rooms and suites, the hotel focuses on a more personalized level of service. The hotel has brought together only the most experienced concierges, managers and chefs to the Five Seas team which has made it one of the best in Cannes since it opened its doors.

Experience

Five Seas Hotel Cannes is only steps away from the famous La Croisette and Le Vieux Port which is lined with yachts and sailboats. The international airport is also close by. If you are driving, the valet will help park and retrieve your vehicle.

On my arrival, I was greeted by the concierge and Five Seas team who helped me with my bags and directed me through to the front desk. The team was very friendly and helpful checking me into my Suite. There were fresh flowers waiting on the table when I entered my suite which was decorated in a contemporary travel theme with objects like trunks and globes from around the world. All the suites have their own sitting areas and desks with access to wireless internet. Each room is filled with the latest technology to keep guests as connected as they want during their stay but also easily tucked out of sight. Some suites even conceal the flatscreen TV behind a painting that slides open when you’re ready to unwind.

Half of the hotel is made up of suites while the other half are rooms which are still spacious with large canopied beds, contemporary furniture and the same technology in the suites. All guests have in-room access to iPod docking stations, a Nespresso machine, complimentary Cinq Mondes products, a mini bar and wireless internet.

Special accommodations at the Five Seas Hotel Cannes include the Terrace & Presidential Suites and the Top of Five Suite which is also called the Secret Suite on top of the hotel with views over the entire city.

For dinner I went up to the Sea Sens Restaurant on the fifth floor with a fantastic rooftop terrace. The menu is orchestrated by head chef Arnaud Tabarec using fresh local ingredients and spices from around the world for gourmet international cuisine. After the main course, World Pastry Champion Jérôme De Oliveira handcrafts sweet desserts to end the meal. He takes charge of all desserts served at the Five Seas Hotel Cannes as well as runs Intuitions by J. which features some of his more inventive creations for guests to sample throughout the day. The salon is filled with delectable bites of marshmallow, sugary almonds, and tarts in bright pastel colors.

Five Seas Hotel Cannes recently opened up Sea Sens Brasserie for quick lunches and light meals. It has also become a favorite for casual business lunches during the workday. And then there’s happy hour at Sea Sens Bar where there are plenty unique and creative cocktails on the menu. Guests also have a choice of enjoying their drinks in the super modern bar or outside on the covered terrace.

Above it all is the Five Seas Hotel Cannes’ Sundeck which is definitely one of the highlights of the hotel. The view is beyond compare, guests get the full Riviera experience overlooking the sea and the rest of the city while floating in the infinity pool. If you’d rather enjoy the sun while warming your toes in the sand, the hotel can also arrange a shuttle to La Plage du Festival where there are plenty of sun umbrellas and pergolas available.

Another highlight is the amazing Spa Cinq Mondes & Carita which offers their services in the main treatment rooms as well as in your room. The treatments have drawn inspiration from Bali, India, Japan and many other places around the world to make up a truly unique program in Cannes. There are four treatment rooms including a double room, a sauna, Turkish bath and a relaxation room so guests can easily spend a whole day moving from pampered room to pampered room.

If you book it far enough in advance, the Five Seas Hotel Cannes also has the COCO VI yacht which is reserved exclusively for guests of the hotel. The 27 meter boat can sleep 6 people for overnight trips and 12 people for daytrips around the Mediterranean. Not only does it get guests closer to the beautiful water and secret spots around the area but it also has a Jacuzzi on the bridge as well as water sports equipment like jet skis and sea kayaks to take into private beaches.

The hotel also has business facilities. Each of the three meeting rooms is full of simple and modern furnishings with bright colors. The Jacques Cartier is usually the first to be reserved with stunning views from the 5th floor and a private terrace. The other rooms, Vasco di Gama and are more suited to larger parties as they can be reconfigured and combined for seminars, cocktail parties, and other private events. Along with the lovely decorations and catering, each space is fully equipped with audio visual technology, wireless internet, and speaker system.

Five Seas Hotel Cannes sets the bar high when it comes to providing excellent service, especially when it comes to their exclusive guests. The staff were always pleasant and tended quickly to my requests. It was a pleasure to be accommodated by their team.

Art, culture, and travel are themes reoccurring throughout the property and the well executed integration of these designs set Five Seas Hotel Cannes apart. With a stunning rooftop sundeck, diverse spa treatments, world class cuisine, enthusiastic service and luxuriously detailed rooms, a stay at Five Seas Hotel Cannes is one to remember. I would highly recommend this hotel to discerning travelers searching for refined luxury in an already lavish city.
