Background
Started by an English/Australian couple that relocated to Samoa years ago, Seabreeze brings international luxury and style to an idyllic beachside location. With deep roots in the community, the owners built the resort from the ground up with careful attention to detail and design. Having been completely destroyed by a tsunami in 2009, the resort was painstakingly rebuilt to its current splendor.
As one of the top rated hotels in Samoa, I was excited to experience it for myself.
Experience
Located about an hour from the airport, Seabreeze is on the south-eastern coast of Samoa. I was met at the airport and was soon greeted by Chris at their private paradise.
I stayed in a Reef View Villa with a comfy queen bed and additional single bed, desk and day bed in turquoise and tropical water tones. A private terrace with a great hammock was a highlight. Though named a reef view villa, the pool and ocean was clearly visible from the room. The bathroom had a massive shower and beautifully designed mirror frames made of local shells and wood.
Amenities included a coffee/tea station, shower and bath gels, and paid wifi was available in the room.
The restaurant, which was a short walk away, juts out of the bay to offer sweeping views of the coastline. Dining and service were excellent with an open kitchen serving Samoan and international cuisine with fresh ingredients. The hot breakfast which is included in the room rate was made to order. I especially liked the delicious local fruit plate.
Paulini’s Pool Bar is a popular hang out for guests to mingle and relax. Drinks and snacks are served right at the pool.
The resort offers a wide variety of activities such as massages, kayaking, and snorkeling. There are also cultural activities with Samoan shows. The resort is ideally located for some of the best sights of the island including the To-Sua Ocean Trench just minutes away. Ask at reception for a customized tour itinerary with essential local knowledge!
Service by the local staff was always with a smile. The team was friendly and accommodating during my stay.
Overall Seabreeze Resort is a fine choice for a romantic getaway on an island offering endless options for paradise beaches and waterfalls. I’d recommend a stay here to base your exploration of the island or for spending some time to simply relax.
