Experience
After seeing the canal, we arrived at Manrey and checked in. We were a bit early and our room was not yet ready, so we dropped our luggage off at the front desk and went to relax by the pool as our room was made. We spent a lot more time than we planned to because the pool was so comfortable and refreshing.
After seeing our nice set up, we headed out for some touring around the city. The hotel driver took us in his van and gave us an introduction of the area.
When we got back, we sipped on our welcome drink in the lobby bar and then spoke to reception who recommended an excellent restaurant for dinner.
Looking for a place to drink, we found the rooftop pool was transformed from a relaxing escape to a nightlife hotspot. We ordered a bucket of beers and puffed on some hookah as the party escalated around us.

Location
On Calle Uruguay, the hotel has a prime location for the upscale hotel and popular nightlife center. It is also just a short drive away from the touristy Casco Viejo and Panama La Vieja.
Room
The room was decorated in a black and white color scheme. It was simple but very classy. The beds were extremely comfortable with Egyptian linen and down pillows. All the modern luxuries are available such as flatscreen TV, complementary water and coffee and a safe in the closet.
The bathroom was very elegant with a glass-wall shower and sleek countertops.
Service
When checking in reception was very accommodating and rushed the cleaning of our room as we waited. They suggested we walk around and they would take care of the luggage.
They were also very helpful in organizing our driver for both touring and for the airport.
Bar staff at the pool area was attentive and placed our drinks on our tab even before we had a room card.
Activities
There are plenty of sights to see around Panama, the canal and Panama Veijo being the most notable. The hotel can help arrange a driver or tours at your convenience.
Dining
The lobby bar is also the restaurant where breakfast is served. The selection was limited, but the food quality was good. We enjoyed a fresh coffee while we watched the rotating horse statue.
Summary
Overall the Manrey provides a hip and trendy environment while focusing on their concierge services. The concept is that the hotel acts as your personal concierge and provides you with an tailored experience for whatever you need.
I thoroughly enjoyed the beds and the rooms were very comfortable though a bit dark for my tastes. The rooftop pool was a pleasure, both in the day and early morning when it was transformed into a outdoor nightclub. I would have expected this formula to appeal to the younger crowd, but I was surprised to find guests of all ages throughout the hotel.
As far as trendy boutiques go in Panama, Manrey is a top contender.
