Background

Koror Palau has plenty of choices when it comes to accommodations, but very few have a location perched in the mountains overlooking the bay. Aliiibamou Resort Carolines is a boutique hotel with only eight bungalows to insure a private and personalized stay.

Experience

The property is located up a hill on a small peninsula of Koror. Airport transfer is free of charge if you did not rent a car. There is parking near the reception. On check in the reception staff will introduce the hotel and how to best enjoy your stay. We stayed in the bungalow which was newly renovated. At the time of staying, they were renovating and updating all of the bungalows. Each bungalow is set in the lush jungle with clear views over the Rock Islands and ocean.

The design of the bungalow was reminiscent of the traditional Palau Bai. Inside there was a queen-sized bed facing the large windows and balcony. An optional cot was also set up against the wall. Rooms are modern with air conditioning, a TV, a mini bar, safe, and coffee and tea making area. The bathroom was functional with a sink, shower, and toilet.

The balcony was fantastic with a seating area around a round table. The views especially at sunrise and sunset were unforgettable. Breakfast was a pleasure since they serve it on your balcony!

Room service is available until the evening. Unfortunately wifi wasn’t available in the room and the lobby internet is prepaid. Next door is a restaurant/bar with free wifi.

The hotel partners with Palau Pacific Resort so guests have access to a pool, tennis courts and gym after they purchase a daily pass. There are also some WWII guns onsite near the entrance and some Japanese tunnels on the property!

There are plenty of things to do in Palau and tours can be booked right from the lobby.

Overall Aliiibamou Resort Carolines is a refreshing break from the busy center and large hotels. Set in Palau’s lush forests, wake up to birds singing and enjoy the magnificent view from your room!
